Bruce Wills appointed as The Circle Guardian.
Co-chairs Laurissa Cooney and James Palmer are pleased to announce that Bruce Wills, Chair of Ravensdown, has been appointed as a Guardian of The Aotearoa Circle.
Bruce is also Chair of Biodiversity Hawkes Bay, a Director of FMG Insurance as well as Chair of two MPI SFFF programmes – one on Mt Cook Alpine Salmon and one on Ruminant BioTech.
Former governance roles include past National President of Federated Farmers, Chair of the Primary Industries Training Organisation and Board member of HortNZ.
Bruce was awarded the Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (NZOM) in 2021 for services to agriculture and the environment. He has 20 plus years farming experience and runs a sheep and cattle farm near Napier.
On becoming a Guardian Bruce says, “A long-held belief I have held is that the environment and economy are flipsides of the same coin. One struggles to prosper without the other - and this prosperity is best achieved when government and business work side by side. The Circle’s public/private partnership embodies this philosophy.”
