Izzy Fenwick Announced as Circle Guardian

After serving for two and a half years as an Emerging Director on The Aotearoa Circle board, Izzy Fenwick is becoming one of our Guardians (directors) in a fully “emerged” capacity.  Izzy is the daughter of Circle founder Sir Rob Fenwick and she brings his energy and focus to the role, often reminding us about what he would have thought or wanted.  We are delighted to have Izzy with us in her new capacity.  She will doubtless continue to bring a true future focus to our team and to the work that we do.

Izzy says of her recent appointment, “I’m very proud of the work we do at The Aotearoa Circle, and it’s an honour to move from Emerging Director to Guardian as I continue to serve the Circle’s board.  For me, the key thing is that we are all determined to move fast and to make change at a systems level, because for my generation, the problems we are facing in both nature and climate are beyond urgent – they are existential.”

Laurissa Cooney, co-chair says “We are delighted to have Izzy transition to a Aotearoa Circle Guardian. Izzy brings significant value, passion, and insight to the board & is a highly regarded Aotearoa leader. Her ability to constructively offer challenge and new perspective is greatly appreciated by the board

Izzy’s contribution as an emerging director has been exceptional and we are excited to have her on the team as a Guardian."
